When You Come to the Website
Top Scroller
The scroller continues to rotate in the background, it's purpose is mainly to draw your attention to any matters which are important or urgent.
Menu- on black
These are the main areas into which we have divided our site. Clicking them does not take you amnywhere, but it does freeze the sub-menu on blue.
Submenu -on blue
Opting for one of these will take your to a main page area- the main regions of the site.

Log-on
When you first come to the site, it will assess what browser you are using and do it's best to present you with a view of the site which is most appropriate.
(This is most important in cases where you are using a mobile browser eg phone, or an older browser which you have not updated. It's your choice, but updating to a newer browser (usually free) is well worthwhile.
You get the option to override it's decision and please yourself.
Shortly after, you will be transferred to the homepage proper.

On the Homepage
On the Homepage- news items
These are pulled automatically from the news stream to present the items which we think are most impressive during the last month or two. The choice may change depending on recent performances.
On the Homepage- How Do I Find...?
Some visitors have said that they cannot find the information they are seeking. We hope this is no longer the case, but just in case, these typical questions are answered specifically to try to assist any such visitors. If you cannot find what you are seeking, please use the bottom option (which is 'how to get a different question answered') and we will add that to the list.
On the Homepage- video
The video box (centre right) may show appropriate or topical video, but alternatively it may present audiovisuals (switching photos backed by sound commentaries)
On the Homepage- RH domestic
Integrated Facebook
This site has been extensively updated (at the request of many organising members) to integrate the use of social media, particularly (not only) Facebook. At appropriate times, you will find the facebook icon, which by clicking will take you to a support group or information area. Rotherham Harriers & AC are aware of and support the Facebook Policy that under-13s do not use Facebook and that older youngsters do so only with care, guidance, and parental acceptance. We therefore ask you, if you are a parent or guardian, to inform us if you have any serious concerns about this availability. Other social internet
Twitter and other social media are possibilities, but are not currently employed in the website.

How Different Browsers Should See the Website

If You are Having Difficulty Viewing the Content
It may be necessary for you to reduce the demands placed on your browser or on your computer. This could arise particularly if your are using a mobile device or an older system. Go to Home-Browsing Options and ask for 'mobile browse'.
You can get this option by askng for it during your log-on.
(Soon) your computer/browser will remember your choice and apply it for future visits. Yo9u can of course reset it by ther same means and opting for 'full browser' If it is a matter of the viewing area being small, there are several options:-
1. You can alter ther resolution of your screen. Do this by going to (often in start-up menu) Control Panel, Display, and when there change the screen resolution to a higher specification. It is reversible if you don't like the result.
2. If the above is not attractive, there are two possibilities. (In the release version of the website) there is a clickable above the visits counter which will hide the top adverts. In addition, function key F11 often will when pushed hide your menu and address bars at top of screen. Combined, these give you a much bigger viewing area.
Push F11 to reverse, and click to show the adverts.
