Relay Evening Hits All the Right Notes

RH Introduction to the excitement of road relay running was fortunate in the sudden good weather but the inspiration and planning were fine and the support of an array of reliable and generous club supporters put on a great display for the up-and-coming developers.

Teams were balanced on predicted speed of all competitors and the finish was closely contested. This was the first of an intended batch of development events.

Pictured are (1) winning team of Janet Dutton, Lisa Ryles, John Spencer and Howard Darwin and (2) fastest leg winners Peter Neal (stage 1, 5.54), Rebecca Skirrow (2, 7.54), Catherine Eddison (3, 6.36) and Steve Marshall (4, 5.25)

Co-organisers Gill Taylor and Pete Humphries were happy also that the computer system prepared works fine and that the venue is a strong candidate for a bigger event in the not-too-distant future.
