Late entries
are allowed (after 3 Dec) & E.O.D, but at a premium fee of £15:00,
so PLEASE ENTER IN ADVANCE.
The absolute Minimum Age on the Day is 18
years for the individual event, although the TRA recommend a minimum age of
21
Please note
that entries and results will be processed by computer, and can
only be accepted on this basis. This information will only be
used in connection with the Round Rotherham Run.
Acknowledgement of Entries: Final Details will be posted on the website up to the day before the event. Your entry will normally be acknowledged within a few days of receipt. If your entry is received, you are "in". If it is not, individuals can enter on the day. It will not be possible to acknowledge late entries.

The Route: A "Wainwright-style" diagrammatic map will be available on the day. The route is subject to (usually) minor revision, which will be advised on the day. Check points, with some drinks and light refreshments. A schematic (for relocation, not for detailed navigation) for use with your Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 111 (Sheffield and Doncaster) or Explorer Maps 278 (Sheffield and Barnsley) and 279 (Doncaster) will also be available. The area designated as The South Yorkshire Forest is mainly rural land rather than an area of woodland.

An award for 10 completions will be made for the first time this
year. Hence the request on entry form about previous

Safety: The event, held under TRA UK:athletics rules, takes place at low altitude (below 150 m, 500') but in the middle of winter. Competitors should be aware of the danger of hypothermia, and are advised to carry or wear a waterproof top (cagoule, etc) and adequate clothing. Walkers will require torches until about 07:30, and again from 16:00. All competitors take part at their own risk and must report to the Finish, or retire by handing in their number at an official check point. Competitors must register on the day, with travel information (car registration, companions, etc), and give their number at each check point. The Organiser reserves the right to alter the course in the light of conditions on the day. The Organiser and Rotherham Harriers and Athletics Club cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury arising from participation in this event.
Relay Registration form (update, to hand in on the day)
Start and Format: RELAY: 08:00: This is an eight stage relay with two to eight runners per team: The basic rules of the relay are:
(a) there is a change-over at each of the
seven intermediate checkpoints,
(b) runners
can be accompanied by "minders"
(c)
runners cannot run consecutive legs (except as a minder),
(d) it is the team's responsibility to get the fresh
runner to the check point, and to collect the incoming runner
(e) Mixed Teams; ladies run at least ¯
distance, 27 km. A lady can run the Glory leg (8) if (a) there are
4 or more stages run by ladies, (b) ladies run Stage 1 plus any
other plus 8 or (c) ladies run Stage 3 plus any of 2, 4, 5, 7 plus
8. There are more options if a man runs the Glory leg.
(Note: refreshments at checkpoints are primarily intended for individual competitors. Supporters should park away from the checkpoint and not obstruct the officials ).
For legal reasons, there is Minimum Age on the Day of 18 years, unless the minor is accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

All competitors take part at their own risk and must report to the Finish, or retire by handing in their number at an official check point, as required TRA / UK:Athletics rules. Teams must check in on the day, with details of the support vehicle (registration number), and to report team membership. The Organiser reserves the right to alter the course in the light of conditions on the day.
